Basic InfraMarker Questions

The depth of read depends on soil conditions, tag type, and reader/antenna strength. The IM483B tag can be read by our InfraMarker reader reliably in difficult soil conditions up to 30 inches and has been read to 60 inches in sand.
The InfraMarker™ performs very well in concrete and blacktop. Those are favorable conditions for UHF RFID reading and are excellent surfaces for InfraMarker underground tag deployment.
InfraMarker enabled underground tags are stainless steel backed, IP68 rated, passive (no battery required) RFID tags with a magnet attached. These tags should last decades.
The InfraMarker patented 3-layer data management system makes the question of tag data size almost irrelevant. In short, the InfraMarker record includes written to the tag (e.g., description and location of the asset), information added in the field at time of placement or reading (photo, location comments, date/time of read), and information added by the customer to the record (e.g. asset history, work order documents). The real question is: How much information can be stored in the InfraMarker cloud and the answer is: almost unlimited.
All InfraMarker equipment carries the OEM warranty. InfraMarker tags are guaranteed to work or will be replaced free of charge. 
No. Unlike other underground locating systems, you only need one tag and one frequency to identify your underground utility. You simply write the utility information on the tag using the InfraMarker software and identify it when you locate and read the tag. The InfraMarker map displays all of your pins with utility appropriate colors.
At this time, the InfraMarker System has been developed to locate, identify, and map underground utilities, although this does include the ability to read InfraMarker tags on above ground posts. We do not currently offer a software schema for tracking above ground infrastructure such as fire hydrants, light posts, etc. Call us if this is of interest to you.
The InfraMarker system employs 4 mutually supporting methods for locating your asset: (1) the GPS coordinates stored when the asset was installed, (2) the photo, video, and/or audio comments of the location taken when the asset was installed, (3) the magnet on the tag that is precisely found with a magnetic locator, and (4) the RFID reader that interrogates the tag. The InfraMarker system provides even greater reliabilty and speed by including the visual reference. That translates into substantial locating labor savings, fewer accidental hits, and fewer delayed projects.

InfraMarker Data Questions

The InfraMarker System is Internet enabled and cloud based. Data written or read in the field is available on the InfraMarker site immediately as long as the field has an Internet connection. That means that a technician in the field can write a tag at 10:32 a.m. and that utility pin and tag information will display on the customer map as soon as the data uploads.
The InfraMarker system is set up to provide transparency and privacy. License administrators can grant access to data, grant software permissions, and remove access to who and when they need.

InfraMarker uses AWS which has the maximum protections available.
InfraMarker applications are available on iOS and Android app stores.
The InfraMarker data management system has been designed to support data standardization while allowing configuration by the customer. Tag information is captured in a standard format while the customer can add whatever data they wish to store in the InfraMarker software.

InfraMarker Compatibility Questions

Yes. InfraMarker is available for use on standard Android and iOS smart devices.
Absolutely. The customer can leave the 3M marker balls in the ground and locate those assets using their current 3M equipment while continuing the marking with InfraMarker tags or simply remark the 3M marked assets using InfraMarker enabled tags (underground or above ground). In any case, InfraMarker can incorporate the location of the assets marked by the 3M marker balls in its InfraMarker map along with all InfraMarker points.

Yes. InfraMarker data can be filtered and exported in KML format. You can import that file into your own GIS.
If you can get the map into an InfraMarker compliant (owner, lat-long, asset type) KML format, that information can be imported into InfraMarker and displayed on the InfraMarker map. InfraMarker will display that information with a generic ‘pin’ on the map to indicate that those are not visually identified or located assets.
InfraMarker is a perfect solution for this situation. By using InfraMarker, you can see all of your utilities in one map and contract or employ field staff to locate any or all utilities. Conflicts are easily managed when multiple utilities use InfraMarker.
